Resumen: In this work is presented a state estimator for a continuous bioprocess. To this aim, is used the Nonlinear Filtering based on the recursive application of Bayes rule and Monte Carlo techniques. To the best of author’s many applications in biotechnological area with this tool have not been reported. Generally, bioprocess has strongly nonlinear and non Gaussian characteristics and this tool become than attractive. Specifically, are used the recursive Bayesian Filters SIR (Sampling Importance Resampling), including different kinds of resampling; also the uncertainties of states and measurements are modelled. The estimator behaviour and performance are illustrated for the continuos alcoholic fermentation process of Zymomonas mobilis. There is an industrial interest in the use of Zymomonas due to its capacity of producing ethanol; and for the fuel ethanol industry to expand; Zymomonas mobilis has attracted the attention as a promising bacterium regarding improving ethanol Production.
